My Sister’s Green Beans

My sister makes the best green beans and since imitation is often considered the sincerest form of flattery, I thought I would share my version of her recipe with you.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb fresh green beans, washed and trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup coconut aminos
  • 1/4 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • salt and pepper to taste

Preparation:

In a deep skillet heat the sesame oil and the garlic. When hot, add the green beans and stir fry for 2 minutes. Add the coconut aminos and broth and reduce heat to medium low, cover and simmer for 8 minutes or until the green beans are tender, crisp and soft.  Season with salt and pepper and serve.
