Cinnamon Sauteed Apples

yumyumyumyumyumyumyumyumyumyum.Part dessert, part breakfast this recipe is so yummy! These cinnamon apples are great as a side dish by itself or with pork chops, chicken sausage, over paleo pancakes, waffles or granola. I recently discovered Coconut Nectar which can be used in place of Agave or Honey in recipes and is raw, organic and delicious!

Cinnamon Apples


  • 4 Golden Delicious (or granny smith) apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon coconut nectar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 tsp nutmeg

  1. Peel, core and slice apples
  2. Melt coconut oil over med-high heat
  3. Add coconut nectar and vanilla to pan and stir to combine
  4. Add apples, cinnamon and nutmeg and stir/toss to evenly coat the apples
  5. Cover and let simmer over medium heat for 4-5 minutes
  6. Stir and check for softness
  7. Cook uncovered 2-3 minutes to let sauce thicken
  8. Apples are done when soft
