Let’s Eat

When I decided to cut out the junk I realized that eating right wasn’t unsatisfying or boring. In fact, it is fun and has a lot of benefits – no more afternoon headaches or sugar cravings, I sleep better at night, I have more energy and I feel better all around.

Update: I have modified my guidelines to follow the Paleo plan. Here are the basic things you need to know:



Protein – animal protein of all kinds preferably organic,   grain fed, free-range, wild caught, etc. Gluten
Vegetables Dairy
Fruit Soy
Coconut, avocado and olive oils Sugar
Nuts and seeds Processed

Here are the guidelines I followed when I started P90X:

  1. Include fruit with at least one meal and one snack a day
  2. Include vegetables with at least two meals or snacks a day
  3. Eat carbohydrates in moderation and eat mostly whole grains
    We like brown rice, quinoa, whole grain bagels and english muffins, corn and flax tortillas
  4. Include one lean protein source with every meal or snack
    lean chicken, fish, turkey
    Soy/Veggie burgers, sausage, etc
    Greek Yogurt, Cottage Cheese, Milk or other low-fat dairy
