When I decided to cut out the junk I realized that eating right wasn’t unsatisfying or boring. In fact, it is fun and has a lot of benefits – no more afternoon headaches or sugar cravings, I sleep better at night, I have more energy and I feel better all around.
Update: I have modified my guidelines to follow the Paleo plan. Here are the basic things you need to know:
|Protein – animal protein of all kinds preferably organic, grain fed, free-range, wild caught, etc.||Gluten|
|Coconut, avocado and olive oils||Sugar|
|Nuts and seeds||Processed|

Here are the guidelines I followed when I started P90X:
- Include fruit with at least one meal and one snack a day
- Include vegetables with at least two meals or snacks a day
- Eat carbohydrates in moderation and eat mostly whole grains
We like brown rice, quinoa, whole grain bagels and english muffins, corn and flax tortillas
- Include one lean protein source with every meal or snack
lean chicken, fish, turkey
Soy/Veggie burgers, sausage, etc
Greek Yogurt, Cottage Cheese, Milk or other low-fat dairy
